Miss Dior Chérie

Today I wanna run through the city to a French song, try on clothes, have cupcakes, wear a pink dress and golden shoes with bows, ride my bicycle and be absolutely gorgeous and carefree. And live in Paris, of course!

I'm absolutely in love with the new Miss Dior Chérie advert, produced by Sofia Coppola.

Photos that cheat

Sometimes as consumers we come across certain products that you just wonder how you bought them in the first place. Advertising has a big role on this, but most of the time the packaging really helps selling the product. Don't get me wrong, I'm not against this at all, I LOVE advertising, and I love the art and research and detail that go into packaging as well... as long as the photo or the advert is selling something remotely simmilar to the real product. In this case my Mum bought what looked like really nice chocolate cookies. You should have seen my face once I opened the package... It makes you wonder if they placed the wrong product in the wrong box! Someone should tell the folks at Carrefour that by selling cookies in a cardboard box instead of a plasic wrapper doesn't make the product "premium". It turns out to be a complete disappointmet, so much so that I had to take a picture of it. (PS: the taste is as bad as the real photo / Click on the photos to see the BIG difference).

A veces, como consumidores nos encontramos con ciertos productos que te hacen pensar cómo es que los terminaste comprando. La publicidad cumple un rol fundamental, pero el packagint también ayuda muchísimo a la hora de la venta. No me malinterprenten, me ENCANTA la publicidad, así como también el arte, investigación y detalle que forman parte del proceso de elaboración del packaging... siempre y cuando la foto o la publicidad vendan algo mínimamente parecido al producto real. En este caso mi mamá comrpó unas galletitas de chocolate que parecían bastante buenas. Deberían haber visto mi cara cuando abrí el paquete... Te hace pensar si no pusieron el producto equivocado en la caja equivocada! Alguien le debería decir a la gente de Carrefour que el sólo hecho de vender galletitas en una caja de cartón en vez de en un envoltorio de plástico no las convierte automáticamente en un producto "premium". Termina siendo una desilución total, tanto que le tuve que sacar una foto. (PD: la galletita es tan fea como la foto real / Hagan click en la foto para ver bien la GRAN diferencia).

I'm loving this non-traditional advert by TBWA / chiat / day new york for Nivea. They used several of these sofas at the presentation of the new swimwear collection by Shay Todd. I think the photo says it all and I love the idea! Do you think the lotion is as good as this ad??


Me encanta este PNT (Publicidad no tradicional) ideada por TBWA / chiat / day new york para Nivea. Usaron varios de estos sillones en la presentación de la colección de trajes de baño de Shay Todd. Creo que la foto lo dice todo y me encanta la idea! La crema será tan buena como esta publicidad??

The princess and the pea

I have always thought that the Princess and the pea tale by Hans Christian Andersen was a bit weird, and I've been torn between two thoughts even as I was really little. On one side... how much of a snob must this princess have been to notice the little pea placed by the queen under several layers of mattresses??

So when I came accross this Motorolla ad on Vogue España I just burst out laughing. The phrase says "If you have noticed the pea, we have something for you". And there's an actual (plastic) pea stuck to the magazine!!!!!!!


Siempre me pareció que la historia de La princesa y el guisante, de Hans Christian Andersen era un poco rara, y desde re chiquita estuve dividida entre dos posturas. Por un lado... qué tan snob tenía que ser esta princesa como para no darse cuenta del mini poroto que la reina le puso abajo de todos esos colchones??

Así que cuando encontré esta publicidad de Motorolla en la Vogue España me mató de risa! La frase dice "Si has notado el guisante, tenemos algo para tí". Y hay una arveja (de plástico) pegada en la revista!!!!!




On the other hand... a bed full of mattresses????? I could totally dig that!!

Playing dress-up

I'm LOVING this!! The instant I saw the new Ralph Lauren collection at Vogue Paris I fell for it! I obviously don't see myself in such an outfit... but as soon as I saw these pictures, they reminded me of my mum's old magazines. The ones that I would browse through when I was little that had those terriffic femme fatales wearing dresses in dark colors, with big shoulder pads and skirts all the way up to the waist. I'm soooo loving these! And it comes to show you that everything comes back. Everything.

Me ENCANTA!! Desde el momento en que ví la nueva colección de Ralph Lauren en la Vogue Paris me encantó! Obvio que no me veo usando ninguno de estos conjuntos... pero en cuanto ví estas fotos me hicieron acordar a las revistas de mi mamá. Esas que tenían unas femmes fatales totales con vestidos en colores oscuros, con hombreras gigantes y polleras hasta la cintura. Estas imágenes me parecen espectaculares! Y comprueban totalmente la teoría de que todo vuelve. Todo.

Desiderata - Invierno 08

Considering the weather (spring hasn't really started here yet) I wanted to post Desiderata's last winter campaign wich I absolutely loved. The pictures above:
1st: One of the adverts that came up in magazines
2, 3 & 4: The making of the catalog.

Of course I'm probably biased as they did the photo shoot in Paris, and there's hardly anything Parisian that I don't like! The mood, the colors, the settings, j'aime tout! Almost all the clothes where so my style... too bad I couldn't indulge into every little outfit...

Af all the photos they used for advertising, I liked the one on top the most. So relaxed, depicting Parisian life with the cloudy sky and evertything in a shade of pink... it's a cliché, I know, but I love how they portrayed La vie en rose.


Considerando que el clima acompaña (acá todavía no empezó la primavera) quería postear algunas fotos de la última campaña de Desiderata - Invierno 08, que la verdad me encantó. Las fotos de arriba:
1ra: Una de las piezas publicitarias que salió en revistas
2, 3 & 4: El making of del catálogo.

Seguro que no estoy siendo objetiva, ya que la sesión de fotos la hicieron en París, y casi no hay cosas parisinas que no me gusten! El clima, los colores, los escenarios, j'aime tout! Casi todas las prendas eran muy de mi estilo... una lástima que no pudiera darme con el gusto con cada uno de los conjuntos...

De todas las fotos que usaron en las piezas gráficas, la que más me gusta es la que postee arriba de todo. Una onda muy relax, mostrando la vida parisina con el cielo encapotado y todo con un tinte rosa... sí, es un cliché, pero me encanta como retrataron La vie en rose.
