Una notte a Roma...

This is a short (stop motion with 4500 photos!) about a girl who misses her train to Milano and must wait overnight for the next train.

This video has a lot of my favourite things: thousands of photos, traveling, Italian, good music and great scenarios. Because great things happen when you travel!! (can you tell I miss the road?)

Have a great weekend!

Pergamino weekend

I know I promised photos from my minitrip to Pergamino, but unfortunately it rained all weekend long. We pretty much stayed in, baked a lemon pie, watched a movie, chatted for hours, ate merengue out of the bowl, slept in, played board games and got all dressed up to go to a house party.

But I think Pergamino is a gorgeous city, and I just got to scape from the world's most boring meeting, so I'll give you these pics of the last time I was there during the winter. For some reason these happen to be my most visited photos on Panoramio (Google Earth's amazing photo aplication, it's photos you upload on the site and magically pop up on GE!).

It's a cruel, cruel summer

8am. One of the hotest days of the year. You, standing in front of your closet deciding what to wear on a day you know will reach 40°C or more, plus rain.

Argh!!!

What do you do?? I mean, you surely can't show up naked at the office, even if it's Casual Friday. And showing up in a bathing suit and rain boots is pretty much out of the question too.... And as I write this, I see out of the office windows how the entire city went from a bright sunny humid day to a black, threatening, concrete city and I'm wondering how I'll walk out of here, or if I'll leave this place at all!!

Fortunately I'm going away for the weekend to a place called Pergamino, haven't been in a while so I promise some good pictures!!

Have a great weekend!

New York, New York...

The past two days at the office seemed like they would go on forever... the first two months went by flying, but lately, every time I look at the little clock on the sceen, it looks like only 10 minutes have gone by, which happens about 60 times a day. And there's so much that's "my resposibility" (my boss' new mantra) that blogging from the office is pretty much out of the question at times.

I need a trip anywhere, ASAP. I'm not picky, I just need to get on a plane and fly away (yeah, pretty much like Dido's song). And it really doesn't help when all of a sudden everyone I know is either going, coming or in New York. Seriously, screw the Inca Trail, never mind Backpacking Europe or lying in the sun in Greece. NYC is THE city once more. Or it never stopped? I was so surprised that suddenly everyone's going... I want someone to take me with them!! And do lots of shopping pretending there's no world crisis, and skate at Central Park this time of year.

Do you think I can go to New York and back on my two-days-2009-vacation?? TWO DAYS for 2009... it's just waaaay too depressing. I'm starting to plan weekend mini trips as of now. But right right right now: I want to be a part of it.....

Girls weekend out

I can't seem to get around the idea that I have no summer vacations... so I'm off to the beach yet again, this weekend with the girls. It's been ages since we haven't gone on vacactions together, so it should be great!!

I'll be back blogging on Monday. Have a great weekend!!

Travelling back in time

I loooove this site I found trough Loveology that lets you age 100 - 150 years whatever photo you have (ideal for those slow afternoons at the office... :P ) So this is what my photo would be like if I had gone to Rome back in 1857!!

Museo Larreta {Jardín andaluz}

I don't know why, but lately I can't read in bed at night anymore... I just fall asleep by the time I hit the third line, so I've got to get creative on beautiful afternoons where I would just read in bed, but I know I want to make the most of the sun and the great temperatures we've been having these past few days.

So yesterday I took off with my camera and a book to the Museo Enrique Larreta, the Museum of Spanish (from Spain) Art of the city of Buenos Aires. They have this amazing Andalucian style garden adjacent to the house that's just great to go to for a walk, take hundreds of pictures or just sit under the shade and read by the fountain. The jasmin, fruit trees, bushes and roses generate an ambience that is abosultely enticing. And the many trees all around the garden provide a great cool shade, even if the scorching heat is right outside the garden walls.

The museum in itself is not very large, but they have lovely literary expositions, and for the 1$peso entrance fee I highly recommend it!

Temaikén: a day into the wild

Suricata

You know how sometimes you need a break from the office? Do something radically different from your regular schedule to clear your thoughts? Well, today we had our first office-day-off, where we just closed the office for one day to get to do something different, get our heads cleared off and be able to go back to the office the next day and see things from a different perspective.

I wasn't too sure how it'd turn out... we're all pretty workaholic after all... and I'd never done something like this in any job before. And going to a zoo???? Hahaha, I really couldn't quite envision it, but I actually ended up loving it!

It was really mind opening to get outside our fish tank and get to see all these animals, local and foreing, get a grasp of all that's out there here, in Africa or Australia or wherever, be a bit more consciouos about the environment and get to spend some quality time with the people you work with.

You might think I'm making a huge deal out of this, and perhaps I am, but I totally needed that break! :)

Cheeta

Oktoberfest & Córdoba 2008!!

Sorry about the lack-of-post yesterday. But I'm still recovering from a fantastic weekend! My cousin and I did a mini trip all the way to Córdoba and we had a blast! As always, unplanned trips are much more fun and as you don' think too much abut them, your expectations aren't high. And where we surprised!

The birthday party we attended was lovely, everyone was sooo nice to us, and they welcomed us right away. We got to finally meet a lot of family members and we loved it!

The city of Córdoba is gorgeous. The historic center is so interesting and Nueva Córdoba is bustling with students coming and going, sitting for an afternoon mate by the music fountain at Paseo del Buen Pastor. On Saturday we covered all the main sights, so by Sunday we wanted to try out something new... and we went to Oktoberfest in Villa General Belgrano!! We both loved this little German Villa in Córdoba, and we can't wait to go back! There was German folk music, German food (mmmm... fat berna with beer!!), German outfits and a whole lot of bier. It's unbelieveable how much this town prepares to receive so many guests for only two weeks for our Beer's National Fest. But it's really too cool for words so I'll leave you some pics I took instead.

Oh happy childhood

J. Crew Fall '08 Catalogue shot in Prague

I love kids and I love cameras... need I say more?? This pic is adorable!!

This weekend I'm going with my cousin to a party in Córdoba (no no, not Spain, Córdoba is also a province and a city in Argentina). We're pretty excited as neither one of us has been there yet and we get to meet for the first time a whole new side of the family. I hope to bring some cool photos to share! Have a great weekend everyone!!
