Paris daydreaming with P

I've been having a hard time adjusting back to the "real life" (meaning: vacations are over) and I keep having this flash back images going on in my head at random times of places and people and all the things I was doing 3 weeks ago.

Right now I'm totally loving this song, loving the video, and totally loving/missing P who's having the time of his life in Barcelona! Click play to see this gorgeous story (never mind the fights :P). How can you not be totally in-love with life when you get to see Europe with the love of your life?

Have a lovely, love-filled weekend!

Pure brilliance

If this doesn't show the true meaning of a wedding celebration, I don't know what does. I'm absolutely loving this vid, and I even shed a few tears. It's absolutely brilliant! And it totally pumped me up for the upcoming summer weddings!!!

Don't you just love it and wish you could break free of all the usual wedding protocol? ;)

PS: If you make me bride's maid I would totally wear sunglasses for you!!

Bursting into song

A friend shared this with me today and I just had to show you too. I know it's nothing new by now, a large group of people suddenly bursting into dance and having people "out of nowhere" start daancing along to one song, but it still fascinates me. Specially looking on stander by's expressions going from shock into full smiles. And I admit it, if this happened to me any random day at Retiro station I would most deffinitely join the crowd and start singing and dancing along, I mean, it's The soud of music!!

Click play and enjoy! It gets particularly freakish right in the middle. I dare you not to start singing along in your head while you're sitting at the office!!

Thanx Sof!!

Culturise thyselves!!

Today I was hit in the face with reality: I'm old. No, seriously, I'm 24, but I'm already old. I needed to get to a doctor's appointment and the train wouldn't come, so I had to fly out of the train station and I hailed, what now is, the most expensive taxi ride I ever took... Why, you ask? Why did I have to get on a  taxi and not ride a bus? Because there was the most ridiculous traffic ever and I was already late.

We din't realy know why we had to come to a halt every other 10 meters....the taxi driver kept promising that past Pueyrredón Av it would be fine and we would speed up, but we never did. Why? I was wondering the exact same thing, until suddenly I vagely remembered hearing about a band that was playing at River Stadium tonight. So who was playing? JONAS BROTHERS.

Yes, readers, I amit it, I have heard the name before, as in I have heard those two words in a sentence... but I just couldn't think of a song I knew they played, or really even picture them in my mind. Judging from the isnanity vibe and screams coming in from River Stadium (2km away) there must be thousands of teenage girls who do know them. You would not believe their screams every 15 seconds or so, carried by the wind into my room.

So who are the? Are this generation's Hanson Brothers? Are they the next Back Street Boys?? I wish I had a 14 year-old reader to explain all this to me and make me feel like I'm not really that old just yet...

Oid mortales!

Yesterday was our National Anthem's day, and perhaps it doesn't seem like such a big story to post about... but it's our anthem and I love it! And I'm not just saying that 'cause I'm Argentine, it is really good.

On the video above it's being played at Plaza de Mayo, across from the Casa Rosada, by the Regimiento Patricios Military band, who I think are excellent!

Don't really know if this is much of a story at all... but we don't usually make a huge deal of our national symbols and I thought it was a good time to spread the sound!

Ideas of romantic love

Ever wonder how we get some ideas in our head sometimes?? Hmmm... love in the times when there was no e-mail, no sms nor instant messaging...

I know the most feminist readers of this blog will gag when listening to some parts of the lyrics, but you've got to admit this whole scene is lovely!! It's so beautifuly coreographed and it almost makes you wanna be sixteen again, sneaking out of the house and kissing your guy under the rain.

I must have watched this movie a gazillion times and still stop to watch whenever it's on on TV. It's weird, once I even watched it in Portuguese because I couldn't figure out how to turn the SAP off from the TV set!!

Banana pancakes

Tuesday. Storm. Afternoon. Office.

Somehow these four words don't seem to combine, not today at least. Days like today make me think of Jack Johnson's song Banana Pancakes. Just stay home, snuggle up and do nothing at all. *Sight* How long until the day is out? (Click here to complete relaxation).

Can't you see that it's just raining
Ain't no need to go outside...
But Baby, You hardly even notice
When I try to show you this
Song is meant to keep ya
From doing what your supposed to
Like waking up too early
Maybe we can sleep in
I'll make you banana pancakes
Pretend like its the weekend now

(...)

And we could pretend it all the time
Cant you see that its just raining
Ain't no need to go outside
Ain't no need ain't no need Mmmm MMmmm
Cant you see cant you see
Rain all day
And I don't mind.

Miss Dior Chérie

Today I wanna run through the city to a French song, try on clothes, have cupcakes, wear a pink dress and golden shoes with bows, ride my bicycle and be absolutely gorgeous and carefree. And live in Paris, of course!

I'm absolutely in love with the new Miss Dior Chérie advert, produced by Sofia Coppola.

PS.: Feel free to get me the parfum if you're ever stuck at the freeshop!!

A modern vintage twist

Sofía totally saved me a few weeks ago from a super boring 400km drive with no music by lending me her iPod and big iSpeakers and I've become quite fond of the little device :) But when I saw this ceramic phonophone my heart just melted! Is this sweet or is this sweet??? Needless to say this would look good anywhere, and it uses no power!!

Work it out

I have this deep love and fascination about the Middle East that is just too big for this one thread. So you'll see it all over the blog eventually. But I just came across this song through What Possessed Me, who came across it via Pia, and I just had to show it to you guys too.

Two singer friends, Noa from Israel and Mira Awad from Palestina made a great cover of the Beatles' "We can work it out". I just love the instruments and the music so representative of each ther. Just click play and enjoy!

We can work it out". Me encantran los instrumentos y la música tan representativa de cada una. Pongan play y disfruten!
