Pure brilliance

If this doesn't show the true meaning of a wedding celebration, I don't know what does. I'm absolutely loving this vid, and I even shed a few tears. It's absolutely brilliant! And it totally pumped me up for the upcoming summer weddings!!!

Don't you just love it and wish you could break free of all the usual wedding protocol? ;)

PS: If you make me bride's maid I would totally wear sunglasses for you!!

Chanel N° 5

For all of you that just love perfum, enjoy a good romantic movie with Audrey Tautou, adore a good Billy Holliday song or simply lust for Chanel N° 5, here's the new film by Jean-Pierre Jeunet.

Have a great day daydreaming of train love affairs, gorgeous strangers and sleeping in trains (which I love!!) I can't seem to get enough of these, with Before Sunrise and all. For another great perfum ad click Miss Dior Chérie.

PS: It's totally worth it to click on the HD (High Deffinition) button if to see it in great quality.

Beautiful strangers

I  thought about posting about Slumdog Millionaire when I watched the movie, and for some reason it was left as a draft in my "to publish" posts and now it became relevant again with Rubiana Ali's (the girl in picture #3) sad news that have been floodding the media. It is so painful to think that a father would (have to) sell a daughter to support the rest of the family... and it's so ironic that an actress who took part in a movie that exposes how hard life can be in the slums of India has to go through this. I suppose I can't really judge this with an occidental point of view, but still, it's just too sad.

I totally recomend the movie, though bare in mind that there are some harsh realities exposed very matter-of-factly, but the people, the places and the colors of India are so beautifully portrayed.

Ideas of romantic love

Ever wonder how we get some ideas in our head sometimes?? Hmmm... love in the times when there was no e-mail, no sms nor instant messaging...

I know the most feminist readers of this blog will gag when listening to some parts of the lyrics, but you've got to admit this whole scene is lovely!! It's so beautifuly coreographed and it almost makes you wanna be sixteen again, sneaking out of the house and kissing your guy under the rain.

I must have watched this movie a gazillion times and still stop to watch whenever it's on on TV. It's weird, once I even watched it in Portuguese because I couldn't figure out how to turn the SAP off from the TV set!!

Una notte a Roma...

This is a short (stop motion with 4500 photos!) about a girl who misses her train to Milano and must wait overnight for the next train.

This video has a lot of my favourite things: thousands of photos, traveling, Italian, good music and great scenarios. Because great things happen when you travel!! (can you tell I miss the road?)

Have a great weekend!

L'ultimo bacio

Today was one of those nights that's just perfect for renting one of those movies there's no chance I could convince P on watching. And I've been meaning to watch The last kiss for a really long time. For no special reason, really. I just love Zack Braff, and the story seemed quite interesting and all, so I rented it. Right from the begging I started feeling like I'd already seen it, scenes kept occuring and somehow I sort of knew what the character would do or say next but I was sure I hadn't seen it before... weird.

Until somewhere throughout the middle of the movie it came to me... IT'S THE REMAKE OF L'ULTIMO BACIO!!!! How had I not realised before that The last kiss is L'ultimo bacio... I don't know. I felt so silly!! I've been meaning to see Zack's movie for quite some time too!!

After the initial shock I decided to keep watching. The story is so good that it doesn't matter wether it's in Italian or English. I have to admit though that I like the Italian version better. Stefano Accorsi (photo above) is hotttt and really good on this film, but Jacinda Barrett (who plays Rebecca on Bridget Jones II) really surprised me and, in my opinion, totally nailed the part on this remake.

The whole story is quite strong, and it deal's with different couples at different moments of their relationships. Makes you think, hard. Or at least that's what happened to me, I started bringing it down to the relationships I know, specially now when it seems like everyone's getting married and having kids. It just makes you stop and think. And that's good, to start analising and seeing things from a different angle from time to time. I liked it.

PS: It's a good thing P never agreed to watch it, 'cause if I'd made him watch that movie twice I'd never hear the end of it!

How about you? Was your weekend so productive?

Movie apartments #1 {Before the Sunset}

I absolutely adore certain movie homes, and I'm going to start sharing them here. For the first post on Movie Apartments I'm going to start with Celine's apartment in Before Sunset. I seriously can't find a single thing in this movie that I don't love. From the amazig characters (performed by Julie Delpy and Ethan Hawk), their past, the untold feelings and twisted emotions through nine years, the amazing Parisian shots, the uttery real dialogues... EVERYHING!

And Celine's apartment is a perfect way to end this movie; the photo above is is a still shot of the last scene... Her her messy, cool loft, filled with hundreds photos and polaroids is in one of those Parisian apartments I love so much, where you have to go in a little pedestrian street and you appear in a courtyard and then there's like a hidden patio with antique bikes and all... *sight* I need to get myself back to Paris!! ASAP!

Céline: Un café et un citron pressé, s'il vous plait. (A coffee and lemonade, please.)
Jesse: (Sighs.) God, I love this cafe. I wish they had places like this in the U.S.
Céline: Yeah, I missed cafes when I was living over there. I mean, I find a few places I really liked, but there was...
Jesse: (Interrupting.) You...You were living in the U.S.?
Céline: Yes, from, uh, '96 to '99. I was studying at NYU.
Jesse: OH, GOD (looks down in disgust) don't tell me that, Céline! (Covers his eyes.)
Céline: What?!
Jesse: No, it's just...Nothing, I mean I...
Céline: What?
Jesse: I've been living in New York since '98. You know, we were there at the same time!
Céline: In New York?
Jesse: Yeah.
Céline: Ah, that's weird. It actually crossed my mind a few times that I might run into you, but...The odds are so slim, right? So...I didn't even know what city you were living in. Weren't you somewhere in Texas? You were in Texas.
Jesse: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Definitely, I just...I was for a long time, I just...You know, wanted to try New York.
Céline: (Softly.) Wow.

Brunette curls and red lipstick

Still shot from the movie My Blueberry Nights, from IMDB

Today I got my hair cut, and tonight, totally by random, I rented My Blueberry Nights. I wasn't even thinking of renting this one... the guy at the video club talked me into it... and strange enough, I found that my new 'do looks a lot like Norah Jones's in this movie...
On another note, I loooooved the whole mood, colors and the way they used the cameras in this movie. Very different to what I've been seeing lately. And I'm also craving red lipstick. I just wanna go out with my hair down and red lipstick. :)
