Life in hidding

Ever so often we come across little pieces of history that have gone unseen for ages, until they're brought to light. Such is the case of this little video, the only filmed footage known to date to show Anna Frank.

We may read thousands of books in our lifetime, but only a few dozen remain in our minds forever. This is the case for me with Anna Frank's Diary. Perhaps it's because I kept a diary (or several, really) myself, or maybe it's because I read it when I was her exact same age, but this book or rather, her memoirs, have always haunted me. And this year I finally got to see it with my very own, teary eyes.

It was the first time ever I cried at a museum, but it was a very powerful sight, getting to see her open diary right there in it's acrylic box. A sight I waited for 10 years and then, this year, I finally got to see it.

The museum is a bit disappointing if you're expecting to see their hidden house intact, the only remains are the book case that hid the secret door and Anna's posters and artists' photos on the walls. But getting to put yourself in her shoes if only for 30 minutes, it was experience I'll never forget.

It ain't over 'till it's over

Apparently all the Spring celebrations last week meant nothing to the Universe, as it's been unbelievably cold ever since! And I refuse to post cute little summery dresses until the weather decides to act accordingly.

In the mean while, I'm loving this gorgeous grey coat, found by The Sartorialist. I know, I know, it looks dangerously similar to my grey coat, but I'm loving those ruffles!!

You're disturbing my Oboe practice!*

My neigbour has been unbelievably annoying this weekend! It's funny 'cause for the past 12 years we haven't even noticed anyone there, I don't even think I've seen anyone take the elevator to that floor either. And I think it's an eldery couple, but our theory is that their grandkid moved in with them recently, because at really odd hours he just cranks the volume up on the stereo and bangs something... so loud I asumed it was the neigbour upstairs. I got to the verge of almost grabbing a broom and hitting the ceiling *Mr Heckles style...until we realised it's some jerk on the floor below ours. WEIRD!

I was browsing the web when I came across this sign... I loooove it!! I would so totally do that! Rat the brat on the elevator with a similar note! *Muahahaha*

Have a lovely Monday!!

Paris daydreaming with P

I've been having a hard time adjusting back to the "real life" (meaning: vacations are over) and I keep having this flash back images going on in my head at random times of places and people and all the things I was doing 3 weeks ago.

Right now I'm totally loving this song, loving the video, and totally loving/missing P who's having the time of his life in Barcelona! Click play to see this gorgeous story (never mind the fights :P). How can you not be totally in-love with life when you get to see Europe with the love of your life?

Have a lovely, love-filled weekend!

Make a wish

Did you know that today it's been one year since my first post here at Journal de Petits Details? How cool is that, uh? Yeah, I've been on and off for a while, but today is the day when I started writing a year ago, and I think that's pretty big!

And to celebrate I wanted to share with you this wonderful story in the video below. I recommend that you turn on your speakers (it doesn't have to be very loud, it is just music after all) as you watch this story about a couple at war told by this unbelievably talented artist on Ukraine's got Talent, of whom I promise to do more reaserch later on.

I had never seen a story being told with sand, light and music before and I was blown away like the whole audience sitting there watching the show. And it made me think how sometimes we complain that we don't really have any talents in us, that we can't really do anything special enough... After watching this video I started thinking: well... maybe we weren't really looking...

Men in glasses...

Yes. Men in glasses are hot. And that's all I've got to say about it!!

I guess it works out just fine that my guy wears glasses too ;)

Spring time!!

Yes!! It's finally here!! So sorry about you guys in the northern hemisphere, but it was about time we got to clear out our closets to make room for fun, flirty skirts and tanks, strappy sandals and open bedroom windows. Time to move into the end of the year and start planning beach escapades and romantic nights outside (if only in a balcony...).

I don't know about you, but I was waiting for this day like a kid waits for the break during Math class.... and even though it might be cold and cloudy tomorrow, today was just perfect! (even though we're no longer students thus not having Spring Day off).

I had a cute little office picnic by Puerto Madero, how about you?? Are you as giddy and excited as I am about this spring?

Commitment issues?

I miss this blog. I miss your comments, and I miss all the other  blogs I used to spend ages on. Would you say I have commitment issues? I mean, after all, I can't seem to be able to keep this blog updated with no interruptions for more than a month.

I came back from Europe a couple of weeks ago, and I still seem to have some sort of ever-going jet lag I never experienced before... what's that all about?? My body doesn't seem to get along with this time zone at all.

But well, I'm back! Back at the office, back catching up with friends, and back trying not to fall back on the old routine, but trying to remember all the revolutionary ideas I came back with. Let's see how long I can keep it up!! But for now, I'd just be content with getting rid of the suitcase that has been lying in the middle of my room ever since I came back. I guess I like the feeling of a half filled suitcase, not really showing wether you're leaving or if you just came back.

Le boudoir

I'm very very sleepy, and that might, in part, be the reason why I'm loving these rooms' pictures so much!! I just had to share. Wish I had a bit of time to fix up my room the way I'd love it. That way I could kiss away my trerrible sleeping habits!!

Bonne nuit!
