Something is very wrong here

OMG... my stress level is reaching unknown levels... I came back to the office from lunch and I realised about an hour later, when I wanted to have some chewing gum, that I didn't have my purse with me. And I couldn't tell if I had or hadn't brought it back with me... we had made a pitt-stop at Zara and I was drawing a blank. I had to go back downtown (yes, we had lunch in a more "central" spot than where we work), with my stomach in a knot and see if it was there or what.

Thank God that when I got there the waitresses had already spotted it, after a co-worker had called they went looking for it. So by some miracle my purse hung on the same chair for about an hour without anyone realising and snatching it!!

I seriously don't know what to do, I mean, this is the first time ever I forgot my bag like this, except for two weeks ago, when I left my wallet at the doctor's office... Like we say here, I'm "in the oven"!

School reunion

Last weekend we finaly had a proper 2002 class reunion and I think it was a success!! Afert all, 20 out of 30 showed up and I loved it.

Sure, we were not as glamorous as Gossip Girl (or at least not all of us), but we did attend an all-girls, Catholic school and with all the downsides that came with that, we had a lot of amazing experiences too. It isn't easy attending a school of over 900 girls... and yeah, I loved the times when I got to go to a co-ed school. But, looking back, our school was great in way too many ways, after all, seven years after graduation a lot of us still remain best friends.

I enjoyed getting to see how everyone was doing, there are girls I literally hadn't seen since graduation day and it was really nice to see how life is turning out for all of us, what cool things some have been up to. I dunno... it was great to see everyone from a completely new perspective.

I hope there are many more of these, so that everyone who missed out this weekend can join!

Guest writers wanted

So, you think you have something to say? Speak up!!

Anyone who wants to pour their ideas into the web, however deep, silly or just plain neurotic ;), get the chance to write a column whenever they feel like it on Journal de petits détails. This doesn't mean that if you wrote once you have to write in here very week. I'm going to keep posting as usual, but I realised that there are many readers who are just too lazy to keep a blog of their own, but who have great ideas and insights for all of us to hear.

Therefore, if in a moment of utter madness you write something you wanna share, send me an e-mail and you'll see it here, whether in Spanish or English, will post it so that everyone can read you!

Real beauty

What a weekend!! I've got some nice things to share, but today I'm running as usual so I'll get to the gossip later... but I wanted to share this photo I found on the webs. Is Lauren Hutton totally cool or is she totally cool?? I loooove that necklace! And her mature-sheepish-carless attitude which totally reminds me of Dove's "Real beauty" concept.

I might get handy this weekend and give that necklace a try!

Una notte a Roma...

This is a short (stop motion with 4500 photos!) about a girl who misses her train to Milano and must wait overnight for the next train.

This video has a lot of my favourite things: thousands of photos, traveling, Italian, good music and great scenarios. Because great things happen when you travel!! (can you tell I miss the road?)

Have a great weekend!

Ode to Ireland

I cannot believe this week is almost over! It flew by without me aknowledging it!! And even though the blues from last week sort of crept into this week, I'm going to give it the weekend to let them pass me by and let me be myself again.

In the meantime, all I can say is that I was really sad that I didn't get to celebrate St Patrick's Day this year. I know you might wonder why is it such a big deal to me, 'cause even I can admit that I haven't got a drop of Irish in my background (even though my cousins do). So, why is it such a big deal?? I would have to say it's a lot of things:

- I haven't felt so at home anywhere else on the planet that in the Emerald Island. I don't know what it it about it, but it kept bringing me back memories of my childhood in Patagonia, even though there are thousands of kilometers in between.

- It's the people. Irish families resemble so much our own, the feel of family care and homemade food. It's also the Catholisism: that even though it differs a lot from our Spanigh or Italian root, is so strong and devout.

- I don't really believe in past lives, but if for argument's sake I had to think of where I've been before, then I'm pretty sure that in the past my soul roamed the Irish moors and cliffs among the sheep and the fogg.

- And then of course, it's the Guinness you take with friends atop Gravity Bar in Dublin. That's why I feel free to say I'm Irish on St Patrick's Day! :)

All photos by me.

Overwhelmed

Total blog abandonment this past week... really sorry about that!!

I feel completely overwhelmed, and it's starting to really get on my nerves... I've gotten to the point where I really can't tell if it's my fault and how I can fix it. I keep forgetting important things, I plan to do fun stuff and completey forget that I had other plans, I woke up waaaay too late this weekend, ergo I had no time to do stuff.

How do you get organised?? Why do I feel like I'm always running everywhere?? Argh! Totally sick of it! Hopefully this week will be a bit smoother...

Hope you had a great weekend!

Fat girls tea time

Looking at this picture reminded me of our Fat girls tea party: a long standing tradition among my friends: we all get together at someone's house on a weekend afternoon and we have to contribute a baked -if home baked even better- all-fattening item.

It's too bad I recently started a diet I'm seeing NO results from... looks like I'm going to have to do a whole lot of jogging to actually get anywhere... seriously, how do people do this? How does one stay focused on a routine and a specific diet, when all you're brain is yelling (in a very Homer Simpson sort-of-way) "Mmmm.... chocolate cake!!"

Girls! We haven't had a Fat girls tea party in a while!! When's the next one??

Girl power!

Hello dears!! Happy belated Women's Day to you all!!! How did you spend your weekend? Mine was a very femenine, very casual and very lazy. I managed to sleep all those deprived hours, do some good reading, then read a lovely girly magazine, did some baking, caught a girly movie and I actually went jogging (gasp!) and run half the lake (double gasp!!). And I loved it! I got to see the sunset reflected in all sorts of fucsias, purples and blacks on the lake, although returning home when it was dark was provably not the brightest of ideas... Anyway, it was fantastic! :)

It's a terribly busy day at the office today, but I didn't want to miss the chance to say HAPPY US DAY!!

xoxo

Have a lovely weekend!

The weekend is here!!What are you up to?? I have nooo idea. I wanna do something fun but I haven't thought of "what" just yet. I'm open for ideas! I might sneak to the new art gallery that opened right accross from my office, here in Puerto Madero. It's supposed to be really cool, at least from an architectural point of view.

It looks like it's gonna be gorgeous, something outside is a must to enjoy the last days of summer. And as a sneak peak of the upcoming winter: I have to have that coat, that dress and those shoes. Seriously!

Bon weekend!

Tae bo junkies

These are absolutely random thoughts that occured to me last night at the gym, so you know that nothing good can really come out of it... please bare with me.

But as I was jumping up un down punching the air I started thinking that I don't really mind the ridiculously buff sweaty instructor, nor the music that's so loud that stops feeling like music and starts resembling airplane noise... what really gets me is the typical gym junkie. The girl in a perfect tan, matching gym gear, make up (I mean, come on! Did you really apply three coats of mascara just to come jump up and down with all of us??), who knows the class better than the instructor, only she does everything one tempo faster, making it absolutely impossible for you on your baggy joggins and uncoordinated limbs to follow the instructor/her on the mirror. I mean, seriously!

More gym thoughts by the end of the week, as S* is making me go back there... Argh!! The gym... why must we??

Flashdance photo from here (now, if I danced like her... it would be a completely different story).

March (un)resolution...

Argh! What a night!! For the first time in like forever I managed to go to bed before 1am, in a plan to start March more organised, finally getting up at the time I'm supposed to, arriving at the train station on time and never again taking a cab to come to work. My plan was going along fine, until I woke up in the middle of the night due to one of the hardest thunder storms I'd seen in ages.

At 2.26 the skies were falling, I quickly closed the window (I can't sleep with the shutters closed) and all I could see from my pillow was the lightning stiking every five seconds or less and buckets of rain pouring against my window. I do like sleeping through a storm, but this was way bigger than anything we'd gotten lately. I eventually fell back asleep, but I slept like crap and had the weirdest series of dreams I'd rather not name.

By the time I woke up (rather late) I really meant to not take a taxi. I really did, only to turn on the news and find out the train was down, the main accesses from home were blocked by gigantic tree branches and I took the longest taxi drive ever... so much for my March resolution...
